We’ve been doing this a while at Jacket Authority, and we’ve seen all kinds of people walk through the same journey coaches, students, small business owners, fashion-forward creatives, you name it. Some come in with a full plan, others just have a logo and a dream. Either way, we’ve got you.

Step One: Figure Out What It’s For

First things first—why are you making this jacket? A graduation gift? A team uniform? A piece for your clothing brand? That “why” will guide the design. School jackets tend to stick with tradition, while brands often want something bolder or trendier.

Step Two: Pick Materials That Match Your Style

Old-school varsity jackets were usually wool with real leather sleeves. Today, you’ve got options: satin for a sleek look, cotton fleece for comfort, or vegan leather if that’s your thing. I’m not sure what works best? Shoot us a message and we’re happy to walk you through it.

Step Three: Make It Yours

Here’s where your jacket is personal. Think about the colors. The collar and cuffs. The back patch. Want your name on the front? A quote stitched inside? Go for it. There’s no “right way” to design a varsity jacket—it’s about what feels right to you.

Step Four: Get the Size Right (Seriously, Don’t Skip This)

Sizing can be tricky, especially when you’re ordering for a group. We offer a wide range, from kids’ sizes to big & tall. Our sizing chart helps, but if you’re unsure, we’ll double-check things for you before production starts.

Then We Get to Work

Once everything’s approved, we get your jacket into production. It usually takes about 2–3 weeks. We’ll keep you in the loop and send tracking once it’s shipped. You won’t be left wondering what’s going on.
